Bio

Before joining PDCE, Patty worked in the New York City public school system for over 19 years honing in on her love of math. She has extensive experience with supporting grades 3-8 math teachers through the use of modeling, classroom visits and reflections. Patty has facilitated professional learning sessions for parents, administrators and teachers. Her professional learning sessions include, “The Rocky Road to Algebra”, “The Visual Connection” and “Let’s Give ‘em Something to Talk About: Math Discourse in the Classroom.” In June 2019, she presented at NYC’s District 31 Algebra for All launch for middle school math teachers. Additionally, she was a presenter at the College of Staten Island Math Connections Conference. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education and is especially proud of her ability to give all students access to grade level math content. Patty joined the PDCE to help students discover math and become owners of their own learning. She is excited to support math teachers in this very important work.
