Professional Development Programs for Aspiring School Leaders
What do you bring to the table as an administrator?
How can I lead with the title?
What is being a principal really like?
The University of Delaware’s School Success Center is offering up to 30 learning opportunities designed to help aspiring school leaders build essential leadership skills and enhance their marketability for leadership positions. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
ASPIRE, a dynamic state-wide program designed by the Delaware Academy for School Leadership, is tailored for educators eager to step into school leadership roles. With its innovative cohort design, ASPIRE brings together passionate educators from across Delaware, fostering collaboration and connection. The program’s goal is to cultivate a thriving learning community where participants build lasting professional relationships and sharpen their leadership skills through meaningful personal growth. If you’re ready to take your leadership journey to the next level, ASPIRE is the program for you!
The virtual ASPIRE program uses a variety of interactive methods to help participants build the leadership skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to successfully lead schools. Research shows that people thrive when they focus on their strengths. By identifying their natural talents and developing them, individuals become more productive, engaged, and effective. To bridge theory and practice, participants will complete follow-up activities after each session to deepen their learning. By the end of the program, each participant will have created a personalized action plan for their leadership development. ASPIRE is designed for educators interested in exploring or transitioning into school-level leadership roles. It is open to aspiring leaders, whether certified or not, for assistant principal or principal positions and is ideal for those committed to personal growth and development.
Through this program, we will:
- Develop leaders who are self-aware and prepared to transition into school-level leadership.
- Develop leaders who are team builders, committed to bringing out the best in others, receptive to feedback, and capable of having courageous conversations.
- Create a community of learning where participants can develop professional relationships and strengthen their leadership competencies through personal growth.
